About

The English-A-course of year 6 (teacher Mrs. Hintz) wanted to meet "real" English-speaking people.
"Why not going to the airport and meet some native speakers there?"
That's what we did!
See, listen, and read about our great English-adventure.

We are communicative!
The English-A-course year 6 from the Lemmchen-school in Mainz-Mombach wanted to meet English-speaking people.
Therefore we went to Frankfurt airport with voice-recorders and interviewed passengers in English. That was very exciting for us. Funny enough, most people understood what we had asked and they were very friendly and helpful.
In the following blog, we’ll show you chronologically what we did in our project. Please listen to our interviews provided on this blog!
Thank you!

Finishing our project

  • We listen to our own interviews.
  • Each group picks out one passenger and writes down what they have found out about that person.
  • We design posters about our day at the airport and present the information in the school-house.

Taking a break

After all the effort, we treat ourselves at Europe`s largest McDonald`s in Terminal 2. In order to get there, we take the Skyline which connects the two terminals. We enjoy the nice view.

Bus Tour at the Airport

We have a guided tour and see the airplanes’ landings and take-offs. It is very exciting to be so close to the airplanes. Actually it would be nice just to get into a plane and travel abroad…

Getting familiar with the technique

We learn how to use the MP3- and the Mini-Disc-recorders with the headphones and the microphones. We walk through the entire school-house and interview anybody who has time.
